Thanks to a sweet friend, our family has enjoyed this recipe on several special occasions. My mouth is watering right now just thinking about it!
Green Bean Bundles
5 0r 6 cans whole green beans (my option: lots of fresh green beans steamed to tender)
1 1/2 sticks butter
1 c. brown sugar
1 tsp. garlic powder
4 tsp. soy sauce
2 dashes of pepper
1 package of bacon (cut strips in half)
Drain the beans. Wrap handfuls in bacon. Place in baking dish (9 by 13 is good). Combine the rest of ingredients in a saucepan on med-low heat. Do not let it get too hot or the sugar and butter will caramelize. Pour mixture over green beans. Bake uncovered 50 minutes-1 hour.
Be prepared to thoroughly enjoy!

YES! I decided (with Rachel's help) that we needed to do green beans for Thanksgiving. I am totally, totally going to make these. they look great!
p.s. the original recipe REALLY calls for CANNED green beans? dang.
sorry, I forgot to put the temperature. It's probably supposed to be 375.
I convinced my family that we should have this for Christmas!
hey, have you ever steamed the green beans the night before? or made the sauce? I'm trying to do extra prep tonight

love you,

okay, I have definitely steamed the beans, and I'm sure they'd be awesome if done the night before. If you did the sauce the night before, you'd just have to reheat it before pouring over, because the butter will harden in the frig. Do it! Let me know how it works!
thanks Gab! we'll let you know!
these were, again, a hit at our table! (Joshua and Malachai especially!)
we did steam the green beans the night before, and thought it went great.
we did not make the sauce up the night before (no particular reason)
