Landis had to feel a part of this special day too. |
I have found in my life that balance is essential; when I lean too heavily on one side, I get overwhelmed, legalistic, weary; and this applies to so many different things. And so for the education of my children, this model seems balanced to me. And while we still make education decisions one year at a time, for this year, I'm thrilled.
My children have been delighted with their new teachers, and so have I. The communication between the teachers and parents is wonderful--they have been so helpful and informative, adding so much to my knowledge about teaching. We are still making adjustments to our home study days as I work my way through new curriculum...and as if I needed some comic relief to this new choice, one child is already down with Strep throat, ha! Well, maybe we will get all our sickness out of the way at the beginning of the year...

aaaahhhh. what a big change! this brings back memories of my first time in "real" school -- also third grade like Amaleah, but in California, after we moved back from Mexico. I remember being scared at first but then loving it. I wonder how Mom felt...
Cute pic! How great that you took a picture... I would have forgotten. :P
I am sorry to hear about the sickness already, but you are right, just get it out of the way!
So glad it is working!! We were overwhelmed with our new normal(is there such a thing?) this week as well. Please call and come see me when you drop them off or I can meet you at Starbucks:)
I heard they had those gems in Texas! Sounds great! Enjoy!
Wow, Gab! That is awesome. What a great resource for both you and the kids. I love the picture as well! I hope the school year continues to go well.

Hey! I just got a chance to check your blog (we moved and haven't had internet for awhile) and catch up on what you all are doing. We have got to catch up on the phone sometime soon, too! Miss you all!
