This might be one of the sillier reasons to be thankful for Spring, but it's true: No more huge laundry baskets of socks to fold! Flip-flops are back, and this is one thankful Momma. How do you moms do it with tons of children? I heard one mother of six say she used the "sock box" method: once kids are all in "about" the same size sock, everyone wears the same exact socks, so come laundry day, all the clean socks are tossed in the box, and when someone needs socks, he goes diving for two socks, and that's that...We're still in the different size stage, so for now we'll stick to flip-flops!

I very much dislike folding socks.. And hubs is the only one that wears them everyday. :-D So you would think I wouldn't mind just the few... but no! I grewup with the HUGE baskets of socks... that someone how I always got to fold. I hated folding socks. But I guess being the oldest girl of nine I got that sock folding chore becuase everyone else hated it to. LOL
Um...I am pretty sure I know who told you about the sock box...I am thirty and she is still embarrassing me...but oh how I love her:). AND I DO NOT ENDORSE THE SOCK BOX!!!!

Years ago, one of the other children in that family told me she did not like the sock box either! I'm glad girls wear sandals so much here; I only have to fold Dennis' socks now.
I seem to also have an abundance of socks, but I did get a small reprieve this last "sock-buying" time. Gideon and Micah, of course, wear the same size:). But Simeon and Thaddeus were also in the same size range, so now I only have to divide the boys' socks into two piles! And of course, Grace's are pretty obvious:)
OH, and one more benefit...one day I couldn't seem to find any of MY socks clean, so I just borrowed a pair of the twins'. perfect fit. I think that's a little scary, since they 're only 8.
Oh if you could see the entire large size laundry basket that I have overflowing with ONLY socks right now!!! Maybe I'll take a pic of it and post it just to make you feel even better about it being flip flop season...I'll post a pic of our flip flop basket too though and that will crack you up as well! :-) Love you and love your post!
